Gay travel Provence --- guided walking holiday and hiking vacation in south France

As keen walkers we are happy to organise a gay walking holiday or hiking vacation or weekends with a variety of nearby walks available to suit all levels. The walking holiday can include guided wine tasting at some of the many vineyards of this great region in Provence and southern France. With gay walking guided wine tours you will have great company and no need to worry about driving if you overdo the free wine tasting!

We are members of 2 gay walking groups: www.gaysrandonneurs.com and www.randosprovence.org who organise between them gay walking almost every Sunday.

We have an organised all gay walking holiday arranged for June 6th to June 13th with a morning walk on Sunday June 7th with 30 other walkers joining us at the villa for aperitifs in our woodlands, lunch on the balcony and a swim in the large heated pool in the afternoon. Most meals and transport are included for the week at 750 Euros inclusive, with optional evening trip to the gay nightlife at Marseille and with the possibility of attending the Gay Pride marches in Montpellier on June 6th and a train ride to Lyon on June 20th, giving you chance for an extra week in this lovely area. Organised walks for this special week include a picnic at L'Espiguette beach, a wine tour to Chateauneuf du Pape, visit to the ancient chateau and village of Les Baux de Provence and the nearby St Remy, famous as the birthplace of Nostradamus and home of artist Vincent Van Gogh for most of the last year of his life. There are many other walks right from Maussane itself for those who like not to travel too far in the car.

There is a huge amount of ancient and more recent history in the area around Maussane. Just a few minutes drive away is the archaological site of Glanum, the largest Roman village site outside of Italy. And of course there are the colisseums or arenas and theatres at Arles, Nimes and Orange.

Your hosts have spent many years painstakingly going through the tough business of researching the best vineyards and wines to taste! Wine-tours can be added on to your holiday to places such as Chateauneuf du Pape, some of the Cotes du Rhone vineyards, Aix en Provence, and those of Costieres du Nimes, and combined with visits to historical sites or shops--whatever you want.

ARLES VAN GOGH ART TOURS AND AVIGNON ART TOUR

Art tours can include the superb Favre Museum in Montpellier with 84 rooms full of famous paintings, Avignon art tour, Arles Van Gogh art tours, Marseille travel to include lunch around the Vieux Port and a visit to the Cantini museum, Paul Cezanne at Aix en Provence with a special Cezanne Picasso exhibition in 2009. These and many other famous artists were inspired by the light and scenery of this region in south of France.
